Abstract
In accordance with an embodiment, a method includes: receiving, by an access management network element, a first message, wherein the first message comprises a positioning request of a terminal device, or the first message comprises a location information request corresponding to the terminal device; and sending, by the access management network element, a second message to a first core network element, wherein the second message is configured to request to establish or update a first user plane connection, or the second message is configured to request to select the first user plane connection, wherein the first user plane connection is used to transmit positioning information of the terminal device, and the second message comprises a location service identifier.
