Abstract
In an electronic device and an operation method of an electronic device according to various embodiments, the electronic device may include: a communication circuit configured to support cellular communication through a terrestrial network and a non-terrestrial network, a memory configured to store mapping data in which identification information of the non-terrestrial network and services supported by the non-terrestrial network are mapped, and a communication processor, wherein the communication processor may be configured to: identify, while connecting to a network through a node, whether the network including the node is the non-terrestrial network, based on system information received from the node, identify, based on the network being the non-terrestrial network, services supported by the network, based on the mapping data, and prohibit transmission of a request message for establishment of a packet data unit (PDU) session for a service, which is not supported by the network, to the network.
