A computing system may cause transmission of a prompt, formatted as a short message service (SMS) message, to an endpoint device, the prompt indicating an ability to control one or more components a location remote from the computing system. The computing system may receive text of a responsive SMS message sent by the endpoint device and determine that the text of the responsive SMS message represents a request to control the one or more components.
