Abstract
The various implementations described herein include methods and systems for coding video. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a video bitstream comprising a plurality of blocks that includes a current block; identifying a block vector for the current block; determining a minimum-cost position in a predetermined area of a location indicated by the block vector; deriving a sub-pixel position based on the minimum-cost position; and reconstructing the current block using the sub-pixel position.
