Abstract
The disclosure provides an approach for precision time protocol (PTP) clock synchronization. Embodiments include transmitting, by a time transmitter node to a time receiver node, a synchronization message via one or more intermediate nodes. The one or more intermediate nodes may record path information associated with routing the synchronization message. Embodiments include receiving, by the time transmitter node, a delay request message from the time receiver node via the one or more intermediate nodes. The delay request message may be routed to the time transmitter node based on the path information. Embodiments include transmitting, by the time transmitter node to the time receiver node, a delay response message via the one or more intermediate nodes.
