Abstract
A system and method for redirecting electromagnetic (EM) waves at an information handling system including a static metasurface unit cell array operatively coupled to a surface of the information handling system comprising a first subsection of metasurface unit cells of the static metasurface unit cell array to redirect incoming EM signals in a first direction along an azimuth, a second subsection of metasurface unit cells of the static metasurface unit cell array to redirect EM signals in a second direction along an azimuth, and a third or more subsections of metasurface unit cells of the static metasurface unit cell array to redirect incoming EM signals in a third or more directions along an azimuth, wherein the arrangement of the metasurface unit cells having varied EM signal phase shifting within each subsection determines constructive or destructive interference to generate the direction beam for redirecting the incoming EM signals by that subsection.
