Abstract

Embodiments of this application provide an energy storage device, pertaining to the field of energy storage technology. The energy storage device includes a casing and a plurality of battery cells, where the casing has a battery compartment, the plurality of battery cells being accommodated within the battery compartment, and the battery cell includes a housing and electrode terminals, the electrode terminals being disposed on the housing. A volume of the battery compartment is denoted as V, a sum of volumes of the housings of all the battery cells in the battery compartment is denoted as V, and 0.4≤V/V≤0.95. This ensures that all battery cells occupy a relatively large proportion of volume within the battery compartment, thereby enhancing the space utilization of the battery compartment and enhancing the volumetric energy density of the energy storage device.
