Abstract

A vision system for a motor vehicle comprises an imaging apparatus () adapted to capture images () from a surrounding of the motor vehicle, and a data processing unit () adapted to perform image processing on images () captured by said imaging apparatus (). The data processing unit () comprises a traffic sign detector () adapted to detect traffic signs in images () captured by said imaging apparatus () through image processing, a decision section () and a traffic sign estimator () that is adapted to estimate validity information () of one or more traffic signs in an image () captured by said imaging apparatus ().
