Abstract
An apparatus and method for generating a synthetic image as a function of a slide image. The apparatus includes at least a processor and a memory communicatively connected to the at least a processor. The memory instructs the processor to determine an illumination profile of an image capturing system by capturing a sensor white image, receive a slide image of a plurality of slide images, identify a background area of the slide image, generate a synthetic slide white as a function of a comparison between the sensor white image and a slide white estimate, modify the slide image using the synthetic slide white to compensate for illumination non-uniformity within the slide image, and generate a synthetic image as a function of modifying the slide image.
