Abstract

A system can comprise a filter driver that is configured to generate respective work items for respective successful file operations on respective files of the system. The system can comprise a daemon that is configured to, for the respective work items, perform respective instances of updating a database with respective indications of the respective files while holding an exclusive lock. The system can comprise a job engine that is configured to rename the database, to produce a renamed instance of the database, create a new instance of the database, and for respective entries of the renamed instance of the database, determine respective storage classes for respective objects of an object storage system that correspond to the respective files, and update the object storage system with the respective storage classes for the respective objects.
