Abstract

A split keyboard stack structure of an information handling system comprises a keyboard sensing hardware structure including capacitive sensor pads in a capacitive pads layer formed under a sealed input surface of the keyboard sensing hardware structure to detect capacitive changes from user interaction with a removable tactile input layer, and a host microprocessor to execute machine readable code instructions to receive an initial detected change in capacitance associated with the user input in one of a plurality of usage input modes at the capacitive sensor pads, and a host microprocessor to execute machine readable code instructions to orchestrate emission of light, via light emitting diodes situated under the removable tactile input layer to indicate status or guide user inputs as interactive illumination for various user inputs and operation of various usage modes for the keyboard sensing hardware structure.
