Abstract

A cam-driven valve assembly includes a valve housing that supports an array of sliding-gate fluid valves to control the flow of fluid therethrough. The assembly includes a plurality of cams supported on a cam shaft. Each cam includes a pair of cam discs that define an inner cam track that is disposed internally with respect to an outer surface of the cam and an outer cam track that is disposed on the outer surface of the cam. The inner cam track is configured to engage with the valve body of a first one of the valves, and the outer cam track is configured to engage with the valve body of a second one of the valves, whereby the cam is capable of moving the valve body of both the first and second one of the valves upon rotation of the cam shaft.
