Abstract
A method of counting winged animal stops of a wind turbine includes receiving, via a controller of the wind turbine, a fatigue-related loading parameter of the wind turbine. The method also includes determining, via the controller, whether or not to count the winged animal stops of the wind turbine based, at least in part, on the fatigue-related loading parameter of the wind turbine. Further, the method includes implementing, via the controller, a control action based on a number of the winged animal stops counted.
