Abstract
Various arrangements for generating and distributing a grandmaster timing signal for a cellular network are presented herein. A base station can generate a grandmaster clock timing signal based on a signal received by a global navigation satellite system receiver of the base station and a clock signal of a local oscillator of the base station. This grandmaster timing signal may be transmitted to a distributed unit of the base station. This grandmaster timing signal can also be transmitted, via a network, to each base station of a plurality of base stations of the cellular network.
