Abstract
A battery cell is provided. The battery cell includes an external container and an electrode stack disposed within the external container. The electrode stack includes at least one pair of an anode and a cathode. The battery cell further includes an electrolyte disposed within the external container and an Oscavenger material disposed within the external container. The Oscavenger material is configured for absorbing oxygen gas generated within the electrode stack.
