Abstract
Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method, a device, a storage medium and a program product for playing a video stream. The method includes: detecting whether a playback display state of a video stream is changed; in response to the playback display state of the video stream being changed, determining whether a preset definition switching condition is satisfied; and in accordance with a determination that the preset definition switching condition is satisfied, acquiring the video stream with a switched definition, and playing the video stream with the switched definition. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, by switching to an appropriate definition, the stuttering in the process of playing a video stream is reduced, the bandwidth cost is reasonably used, and the viewing experience of the video stream is guaranteed.
