Abstract

The present disclosure provides for systems and methods to automatically assess breast density from at least one medical image. The systems include at least one processor in communication with at least one memory device that can receive one or more medical images and estimate the volumetric percent density (VPD), dense volume (DV), and non-dense volume (NDV) of an individual or both breasts from the one or more medical images using automated pixel thresholding. The methods include automatically estimating volumetric percent density (VPD), dense volume (DV), and non-dense volume (NDV) of an individual breast or both breasts from the one or more medical images.
