Abstract
Provided is a method of operating a slave device configured to communicate with a master device and to store a plurality of status flags corresponding to a plurality of device status records, respectively, the method including: receiving a first device status request from the master device; generating a first device status response, wherein based on a value of each status flag of the plurality of status flags, the first device status response includes either a first response type having a first packet capacity or a second response type having a second packet capacity smaller than the first packet capacity; and transmitting the first device status response to the master device.
