Abstract
A type of meter register having a sealed register body, a member adapted to measure the flow of liquid through the meter, and a microprocessor adapted to send and receive messages from a cloud computing computer for determining a utility meter abnormality, comprising: receiving, at a utility meter, from a profile sharing server comprising one or more processors, a plurality of utility meter updates; generating, with the one or more processors, a utility meter profile based on the one or more utility meter updates; receiving, at the utility meter, from the profile sharing server, a utility meter profile; automatically determining, an abnormality of the utility meter by comparing the utility meter profile to the flow rate of fluid passed through the utility meter; and in response to determining an abnormality, sending an alert.
