Abstract
A system for an aircraft includes a propulsion unit, a water augmentation system, an airframe, a removable water tank, and a coupling system. The airframe includes a water storage compartment and a water delivery system. The water delivery system is in fluid communication with the water augmentation system and the water storage compartment. The removable water tank is receivable within the water storage compartment and is configured for fluid communication with the water augmentation system. The coupling system is configured to transition between an extended position and a retracted position. In the extended position, the coupling system is disposed between the removable water tank and the water delivery system. In the retracted condition, the coupling system is disposed within the removable water tank or the water delivery system.
