Abstract
A halo intrinsic traction (HIT) system including a first support, a second support, and a first actuator. The first support can be configured to attach to a head portion of a patient. The second support can be configured to attach to a body portion of a patient, the body portion being below the head portion. The first actuator can be configured to generate an expansion force between the first and second supports. The halo intrinsic traction device builds upon the proven principles of halo-gravity traction, and can induce constant and controlled traction across the spine while in a smaller, wearable form factor.
