Abstract
A method and system for pre-surgical joint analysis for arthroplasty treatment are disclosed. A processor receives image data of medical images of a portion of a joint acquired from a medical imaging device prior to implantation. The processor generates pixel-voxel granularity (PVG) corrected images by applying a PVG pre-processing algorithm that normalizes gray-level intensities to a common scale, resamples to a standard voxel size to increase or decrease voxels between images, and quantizes pixel values to produce PVG corrected images. The processor segments the PVG corrected images using a segmentation algorithm to identify region of interest associated with bone, connective tissue, and/or muscle. The processor inputs the regions of interest and PVG corrected images into a medical image analysis machine model trained to output image based measurements and an implant complication risk assessment and displays a 3D representation of the joint and the implant complication risk assessment to a user.
