Abstract
Methods and apparatuses for signaling transmission configuration indication (TCI) states. A method performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, in a first radio resource control (RRC) signaling, a list of TCI states including first and second groups of TCI states; receiving, in a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE), one or more sets of transmission configuration indication (TCI) states; and receiving, in a downlink control information (DCI), a TCI codepoint indicating a set of one or more first indicated TCI states or one or more second indicated TCI states. The method further includes identifying, based on the first RRC signaling, the first and second groups of TCI states; identifying, based on the TCI codepoint in the DCI, a set of one or more first and second applicable TCI states; and transmitting or receiving a signal based on an applicable TCI state from the identified set.
