Abstract
An example method includes a first node scanning for another primary node based on a scanning parameter, and when the another primary node is not discovered through scanning, the first node listens to a first broadcast message based on random listening duration. The first node is a primary node of at least one communication domain, the first broadcast message is a broadcast message from one or more primary nodes in the another primary node, and the random listening duration is used by the first node to listen to the another primary node. The random listening duration is not fixed. Broadcast time periods of the first node and the another primary node are staggered, so that the first node can receive a broadcast message of the another primary node in the random listening duration.
