Abstract
Systems, apparatuses, methods, and computer products for automatic switching of object detection modes are provided, including for switching of object detection modes of an indicia reader. For example, an indicia reader of a barcode scanner may be in an environment where a background is detected by one or more infrared object detection modes. The detection of the background but not an object with an indicia may result in the indicia reader continuously seeing the background. In accordance with the present disclosure, an indicia reader may automatically switch between a plurality of object detection modes, which may include deactivating one or more components, modules, and/or circuitry of the indicia reader.
