Abstract
Apparatus and associated methods relate to a lighting-element adaptor that has male and female power connectors axially aligned with one another along an axis of a body so as to be interposed between a lighting element and a lighting socket. A lamp shade projects outward from the axis of the male and female power connectors with the male power connector projecting from a top surface of the lamp shade and the female power connector accessible from an underside of the lamp shade. The lamp shade includes an upper light-transmissive layer and a lower non-transmissive layer. The lower non-transmissive layer is configured to receive and block a blocked portion of light emitted from the lighting element received in the female power connector. The lighting-element adaptor includes a plurality of Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) for illuminating the upper light-transmissive layer of the lamp shade.
