Abstract

An adjustable door braking system including a shaft, a brake pad configured to be mounted to the shaft, a plate configured to be mounted on the shaft adjacent to the brake pad, a spring, and a threaded adjustment piece. The spring is configured to be coiled around the shaft to urge the plate toward the brake pad. The adjustment piece is dimensioned and sized to be threaded on the shaft on a first side of the plate and is configured to adjust an amount of force with which the spring urges the plate against the brake pad disposed on a second side of the plate as the shaft rotates with respect to the adjustment piece.
