Abstract
A cubic boron nitride sintered material includes: 70 volume % or more and 99 volume % or less of a cubic boron nitride grains; and a binder, wherein the binder includes a first compound including chromium, cobalt and carbon, tungsten carbide, cobalt, and aluminum, and in the first compound, a ratio N/(N+N) of the number Nof atoms of the chromium to a sum of the number Nof the atoms of the chromium and the number Nof atoms of the cobalt is 0.10 or more and 0.90 or less.
