Abstract

A wireless communication device includes a multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna array comprising a plurality of dual-polarized antennas configured to receive radio frequency (RF) signals in vertical and horizontal polarizations across a plurality of frequency bands. The device further includes a radio frequency (RF) front-end coupled to the MIMO antenna array. The RF front-end applies band-specific filtering to isolate signals-of-interest and down-converts and digitizes the signals-of-interest to predefined intermediate frequencies to obtain digitized down-converted signals. The RF front-end includes a WLAN radio having distinct RF chains for concurrent operations across different frequency bands. A processor is configured to set a plurality of operational parameters for processing the digitized down-converted signals and to process the digitized down-converted signals across a plurality of distinct signal domains.
