Abstract
A medical device () includes a component (); and a service tag () to be affixed to the component, the service tag having encoded data () disposed thereon about servicing of the component of the medical device. In some embodiments, the encoded data includes a summary of a service report or an entire service report reporting on a prior service call, with information such as date of service, information on symptoms related to a problem addressed by the service call, information on one or more service actions performed during the service call, or so forth. In some embodiments, the encoded data () of the service tag () comprises one of: a bar code, a quick response (QR) code, and a radiofrequency identification (RFID) code.
