Abstract
A system for securing a message between a vehicle station and second station includes: a vehicle station configured to be located in a vehicle; a second station configured to be located at a second station location other than the vehicle. The vehicle station is configured to receive a message from the second station, the second station transmits the message and a signature to the vehicle station over a first channel, the second station transmits identity validation data related to the message to the vehicle station over a second channel, the identity validation data corresponds to the vehicle station, the first channel is on a first network and the second channel is on a second network, the first network has a latency lower than the latency of the second network, the message requires the identity validation data for a portion of the message to be processed by the vehicle station, the second network has a higher bandwidth than the first network, and the identity validation data includes a time interval for use of the identity validation data, the identity validation data and the signature being configured to be used by the vehicle station and the second station to determine a validity of the message for use by the vehicle station.
