Abstract
A luminaire is formed of a closed, metamorphosing scissor linkage of light-emitting members. The luminaire is moveable through a number of positions, and as the linkage between members is expanded or contracted, it changes shape. The linkage may, for example, shift from a barrel- or drum-shaped configuration in one position to an umbrella-like downlight in another position. The luminaire may be suspended from a support structure.
