Abstract
A brake pressure modulator () includes: a relay valve (); a first valve sub-unit () that receives a primary control pressure from primary source (II) intended for opening the relay valve (); and a second valve unit () that receives a secondary control pressure from a secondary source ('BST') and at least part of the primary control pressure. The second valve unit () is a pneumatically controlled valve (D,A,B,C) having a valve casing () including a pressurized guiding sleeve () providing a valve chamber () that axially guides a spool () adapted for mere pneumatic actuation, and a coil casing () providing a coil chamber () next to the pressurized guiding sleeve (). The valve chamber () is free of a spring () and the coil chamber () is free of a solenoid (), such that the spool () is actuable pneumatically only.
