Abstract
A driver assistance apparatus for an electric vehicle includes a battery, a motor generator, a vehicle speed sensor, a travel environment data obtainer, and a processing circuit. The processing circuit is configured to control a vehicle speed and a deceleration rate of the electric vehicle, based on the vehicle speed detected by the vehicle speed sensor and travel environment data acquired by the travel environment data obtainer, by causing the motor generator to be driven and perform regenerative braking. The processing circuit includes: a road detector configured to perform a detection of a wide street and a narrow street, based on the travel environment data; a stop position detector configured to perform a detection of a stop position, based on the travel environment data; and a deceleration processor configured to decelerate the electric vehicle by the regenerative braking at a low deceleration rate in traveling on the wide street.
