Abstract

For slipper spring vehicle suspension, a compliant torque-and-load wear pad damper has a steel tubular inner sleeve and an oversized steel tubular outer sleeve which together define a lumen defining a generously-sized cylindrical annular space, as well as an elastomeric intermediate sleeve press-fitted tightly into the cylindrical annular space and immovably fixed to both sleeves. The elastomeric has stiffness properties that resist torsional distortion. The inner sleeve is longer than the outer sleeve and is immovably fastened with respect to its respective hanger whereby the outer sleeve is free to float subject to the stiffness of the elastomeric material that is resistant to torsional distortion.
