Abstract
A case system for a portable electronic device is described. The system includes a holder assembly having a front wall portion with ridge portions, a trough region configured to receive and align a stylus, pen, or pencil, and a retention member for securing the stylus, pen, or pencil within the trough region. The frame assembly includes a plurality of side portions with flange portions, a recessed structure with end portions, corner portions, a back portion, a base portion, and a bevelled edge portion. The frame assembly further defines an aperture configured to couple with the holder assembly such that the trough region remains accessible for storage and retrieval of the stylus, pen, or pencil. The holder assembly may be detachably coupled to the frame assembly without tools, and the stylus, pen, or pencil may include a conductive tip configured to interface with a display of the portable electronic device.
