Abstract
An aerosol-generating system comprising a cartridge () and an aerosol-generating device (), the cartridge () comprising: an aerosol-forming substrate (); a cartridge body () for holding the aerosol-forming substrate (); and a first electromagnetic information marker (); the aerosol-generating device () comprising: a housing () having a cavity () configured to receive at least a portion of the cartridge (); and a second electromagnetic information marker (); wherein the first () and second () electromagnetic information markers are positioned such that, when the at least a portion of the cartridge () is received within the cavity () of the aerosol-generating device (), the first electromagnetic information marker () at least partially overlaps the second electromagnetic information marker () to enable information stored by the first electromagnetic information marker () to be read by magnetic interaction with the second electromagnetic information marker ().
