Abstract
A rotatable cutting head body for holding a cutting line for a string trimmer or mower includes a plurality of passageways, with each passageway extending between two openings at the perimeter of the cutting head body. A cutting line may be installed in the passageways to extend into inlet openings and out from outlet openings, with free ends of the cutting line extending in radially opposite directions away from a rotational axis of the cutting head body. The passageways may be coplanar with each other. The cutting head body may include one or more cutting head disks arranged along the axis, with each disk having the plurality of passageways. The cutting head body may not include moving parts for advancing the cutting line. The cutting head disks may position the cutting line away from an interface between two adjacent cutting head disks.
