Abstract
A permanent magnet usable for an ultra-high vacuum atmosphere is made of a magnetic alloy coated with a non-evaporable getter (NEG) layer made of a binary, ternary or quaternary NEG alloy containing elements selected among Ti, Zr, V, Hf, Nb, Fe, Al and Cu which comprises at least Zr from 20 to 85 at % and V from 8 to 63 at %, with respect to the sum of the alloy elements in the NEG alloy.
