Abstract
A manufacturing device and a molding method for reinforcing a rotary component with carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), the manufacturing device molding a ring to reinforce a rotary component having a circular cross section as an outer layer, in a mold where a unidirectional prepreg comprising a thermosetting resin and carbon fibers is wound on the rotary component is heated and cured, an annular pressure source that applies external pressure to the prepreg via thermal expansion is disposed between a cavity of the mold and the prepreg. The manufacturing device and molding method are suitable for mass production, provide high productivity with low-cost equipment, reduce manufacturing cost by eliminating disposable secondary materials and enabling reuse of members, and uniformly apply a molding pressure in a central direction of the rotary component.
