Abstract
Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) transmits, to a plurality of UEs, a request capabilities message for a sidelink positioning session among the plurality of UEs, wherein the request capabilities message includes a first group identifier for the UE and the plurality of UEs, receives a plurality of sidelink positioning capabilities messages from the plurality of UEs, wherein each of the plurality of sidelink positioning capabilities messages includes the first group identifier and one or more capabilities of a corresponding UE of the plurality of UEs to participate in the sidelink positioning session, and transmits, to the plurality of UEs, based at least in part on the one or more capabilities of each of the plurality of UEs, a message indicating that one or more UEs of the plurality of UEs are not to participate in the sidelink positioning session.
