Abstract
In a method of processing visual media data, a conversion between a visual media file and a bitstream of visual media data is performed according to a format rule. The bitstream includes transform block signaling information and at least one of low-frequency non-separable transform (LFNST) information and matrix-based intra prediction mode (MIP) information. The transform block signaling information indicates an implicit transform scheme, the transform information indicates whether the LFNST is invalid, and the MIP information indicates whether the MIP is invalid. The format rule specifies that a primary transform type for a transform block is determined based on a size of the transform block responsive to the transform block signaling information indicating the implicit transform scheme and at least one of the LFNST information indicating the LFNST is invalid and the MIP information indicating the MIP is invalid.
