Abstract
A comprehensive system for managing inventory, delivery and quality control of reusable downhole setting tools. Component parts are laser engraved with scannable unique identification codes for part trackability and traceability purposes. Tools can be function-tested before being shipped to a well site or other remote location to confirm operational integrity. Tested tools arriving at a well site or other remote location can be scanned and used in wellbore operations. Previously used tools can be packaged at the well site or other remote location, scanned for trackability/traceability purposes, and returned to a shop or other facility for rebuilding and/or refurbishment. The rebuilt and/or refurbished tools can be tested for operational integrity. The process can be repeated.
