Abstract
A display device configured to detect a wireless connection to a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) connection device connected to an external source device, determine a first distance to the HDMI connection device based on a time difference between a first time point of the wireless connection to the HDMI connection device and a second time point of reception of the first IR signal, based on the first distance being within a determined IR signal arrival range, set the IR signal transceiver as an IR signal output device for the external source device, determine whether a second IR signal output by the IR signal transceiver at least partially overlaps a third IR signal transmitted through the HDMI connection device, and, based on determining that the second IR signal does not overlap the third IR signal, set the HDMI connection device as the IR signal output device for the external source device.
