Abstract
A method of producing cyclohexane-1-carboxylate (CHC), including providing a growth medium comprising a yeast extract, and a crotonate salt; providing a culture of(); using the growth medium to initiate growth of the culture of; after thehas initiated cell division, adding to the growth medium a benzoate salt, wherein after an incubation period, the CHC produced by the culturing of thein the growth medium is purified. The incubation period may be continued until the amount of CHC in the growth medium has achieved a concentration of at least 1 g/l (7.8 mM).
