Abstract
A method () is provided. A configuration block () comprising a configuration value () is obtained. The configuration block () is useable to reconstruct a first representation of an image at a first level of quality in a tiered hierarchy having multiple levels of quality using a second representation of the image at the first level of quality. The second representation is based on a representation of the image at a second, lower level of quality in the tiered hierarchy. An extension configuration block () comprising an extension configuration value () is obtained. The configuration value () and/or the extension configuration value () is useable by a decoder to reconstruct the first representation of the image at the first level of quality.
