Abstract
A turning tool () that does not easily interfere with other tools and can supply a sufficient amount of coolant is provided. The turning tool () includes: a cutting insert () which is mirror-image symmetric with respect to a first and second symmetric surfaces (M, M); and a tool body () which has a first discharge port () to supply coolant to a first cutting edge (E) of the cutting insert () from a first rake surface (R) side. The first discharge port () is disposed between a second flat surface () and a first reference surface (Vxz) which is parallel with the second flat surface () and includes an edge line of the first cutting edge (E).
