Abstract
Articles and methods for processing aluminum are generally described. The aluminum can include compositions of gallium and/or indium such that the aluminum is activated to react with water. In some of the described methods, water may be reacted with a material that includes a plurality of fragments forming a plurality of layers that are in contact with and/or adjacent each other. The plurality of layers may contain aluminum as well as gallium and/or indium, and the layers may be non-planar due to the inclusion of bends therein.
