Abstract

Provided herein are materials and methods for developing elite or elite commercial varieties using thecultivar 2032 and variety 182002-B-B-31, which demonstrate an improved shatter resistance trait and/or an early maturation trait. The use of these cultivars together with other plants and plant materials in the Brassicaceae family to develop additional varieties having the shatter resistance trait and/or early maturation trait are provided. Methods of gene editing, breeding, and using the same in breeding program are also provided.
