Abstract
The present disclosure relates to synthetic glycolipids of the formula (I): wherein • A represents (CH)with n being an integer from 2 to 10 or CH—CH—[O—CH—CH]m with m being an integer from 1 to 5; • B represents NRor OCH, with Rrepresenting H, Me, Et or n-Pr; • 'Sugar' represents formulas (A) or (B) where Rrepresents OH and Rrepresents H, or where Rrepresents H and Rrepresents OH; • Y represents H when X and Z which are identical represent O—(CH)p-CH, or Z represents H when X and Y which are identical represent O—(CH)—CH, with p being an integer from 5 to 18. Glycoliposomes comprising the synthetic glycolipids can be used for the delivery of a therapeutic or diagnostic agent to the central nervous system. Glycoliposomes comprising the synthetic glycolipids can be used to treat a CNS-related disease or disorder.
